Proudly supported by the City of Gold Coast

GENERATE GC provides an exciting opportunity for Gold Coast artists and creative practitioners to push boundaries, take creative risks and develop concepts that respond to the unique potential of Gold Coast communities and environments.   To find out more about the Program go to GENERATE GC FAQ

The GENERATE GC Lab is the first step in the program and up to ten artists are selected via an open call to participate.  The Lab is an intensive interdisciplinary residency designed to stimulate ideas and extend artists’ knowledge through provocation and mentoring.

As a participant, you will exchange ideas, work collaboratively and contribute your experience, toward the development of new site specific work on the Gold Coast. You will work with creative practitioners experienced in developing experimental, large-scale, site-specific or public-participatory artworks. Acting as Provocateurs, our senior practitioners come from a wide variety of backgrounds, offering a range of creative and technical skills, to guide you through a process of creative development, offering feedback on ideas as they emerge. You will be encouraged to think in new ways about your art and how it connects with community, place and work, as well as tackling the logistics involved in scaling up for complex and ambitious projects.
