Lisa Smith is a theatre maker, director, actor, writer, facilitator and singer who has worked over the last 17 years with various theatre companies and performance artists in London, Melbourne, Townsville and on the Gold Coast; where she founded White Rabbit Theatre Ensemble in 2012.

Lisa is passionate about collaboration with other dynamic, passionate artists, and is delighted to be able to actively support and create new work for theatre; thus far the company has nurtured and created several new works including ‘The Grand’ by Victoria Carless (2013), which was subsequently published by PlayLab Australia.

Lisa works as a Drama Facilitator cultivating confidence, communication and performance skills in young adults with disabilities, and was selected as part of the GENERATE program to create a new immersive puppetry work ‘Agnes & Earl’ for the Festival 2018. She is a firm believer in the theatre’s power to create a stronger sense of community and the shared human experience, and working with young and emerging performers is one of Lisa’s great joys within this practice. Lisa has a Bachelor of Theatre (Acting) and is a proud Gold Coast resident; committed to the creation, support and growth of cultural practises in this city.
