ARTS LAB MENTOR/PROVOCATEUR 2016

 

Steve Bull is a co-founder; co-director and lead artist with Perth based tactical media arts group pvi collective. His experience spans visual arts, live art, interdisciplinary arts, new media, game theory and performance. Steve specialises in devising site-specific work involving live art, locative and tactical media for pvi.

He has curated symposia and live events at Prema Arts Centre (UK), Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts, The Bakery and CIA studios. Steve is co-founder and ‘head boy’ at CIA studios, where pvi are Principle Company in residence. He has mentored, taught and lectured across Australia and the UK including through National initiatives such as Spark and Jump. He has also provided consultancy for companies in NSW and WA on participatory elements of their evolving works. On behalf of pvi, Steve has presented keynote lectures ‘Public Space as Performance Space’ at the Nextwave Festival (2008) and ‘Karaoke Keynote’ at the National Experimental Arts Forum (2015).

Steve sat on the Perth Fringe Festival board, was an Electrofinge Festival state representative and sat on the 2013 Australian Theatre Forum National Advisory Panel.
